Marion Crane, the secretary is fed up with the way she is being treated in the life. Once, Marion Crane is handed 40,000 dollars to cash it in the bank by her employer. Seeing an opportunity to take the cash and begin a new life, Crane leaves the town and flees away. Tired from the daily hectic work, Marion Crane drives away and is caught in a storm while she is on the main highway and so she pulls into a motel The Bates. Marion Crane meets Norman Bates the manager of this motel who is a troubled young man who seems to be obsessed with his mother. After meeting Norman, Crane goes to her room and takes a relaxing shower after a long day?s journey. The inaccessibility of this motel suits Marion Crane?s intentions perfectly. What happens next is the real suspense of the movie. ?Psycho? was the first real horror movie directed by Hitchcock where the disturbing movie?s themes of corruptibility, human vulnerabilities and confused identities are being depicted. This was a low budget movie which was brilliantly edited and was a stark black and a white movie of that time.
